Chapter 1. General provisions
1 § This regulation contains provisions on conditions of traffic and marking on and off the road through
- traffic signs and additional plates,
- traffic signals,
- markings,
- other devices to direct the traffic and the character of the guard,
- safety at crossings with railway or tramway, and
- signs of the police officer and others
§ 2 of this Regulation, the following terms have the meaning given below. Other designations used in the Regulation have the same meaning as in the Act (2001: 559) on road traffic definitions, the Order (2001: 651) on road traffic definitions, the Act (2006: 263) on the transport of dangerous goods and commercial traffic Act (2012: 210).

3 § Road and other devices together with road and street design and its adaptation to the road and street areas provide the road user guidance, control and information for an efficient and safe service. Road signs and other devices shall be designed and located, and in such a condition that they can be detected in time and the course of the road as they are intended. They may not be set up so that they pose a danger or unnecessarily hinder road. Special consideration should be given to children, the elderly and the disabled.
4 § Road and other devices have the meanings set forth in this Regulation. They have the shape, size and color as seen in this Regulation or the regulations issued under this Regulation.
Road signs and additional panels can be designed with brilliant road sign image. A symbol on a bright road sign image can then be brilliant white on dark ground. Bard, slashes and other red part of the road sign is always bright red.
5 § In cases other than those specified in this regulation or in regulations issued under this Regulation, signs, posters, decals, or the like can not be put on the

2 § Traffic signs, symbols and additional plates have the meanings indicated by their name unless otherwise specified.
If there are several additional plates under a road sign instructions apply to each of these as a supplemental instruction to the mark. Includes an additional sign several instructions apply them jointly as a supplemental instruction to the mark.

Special provisions for the road

§ 4 Warning Signs warn of danger and informs about the nature of the hazard. Warning Signs are posted at the distance from the danger that makes them most effective both by day and at night.

Chapter 3. traffic signals

Chapter 8. Appropriations, costs, etc.
1 § Transport Agency may issue regulations

Transport Agency may also issue the regulations needed for the implementation of this regulation, such as regulations
- size and closer look at road signs and other devices as defined in this Regulation and to road signs and other devices or the materials contained in them must be of such a type approved by the Board or by another authority, and
- the conditions under which such devices to direct the traffic referred to in Chapter 1. § 1 must or may be set up, deleted, maintained or carried out and how this will or may take place. Regulation (2008: 1180).
2 § Before Transport Agency issues regulations under § 1, the Board shall consult with the Swedish Transport Administration. The Board shall also consult with the Traffic Authority regarding regulations on the A39 mark, check mark, device X8, crossing the screen, and the safety at level crossings. Ordinance (2010: 156).
3 § The police authorities may issue further regulations on police signals under this Regulation. Regulations may relate to the characters that may be used by someone other than a police officer appointed give directions for traffic.
Before the Police Authority issues regulations pursuant to the first paragraph, it shall consult the Transport Agency. Regulation (2014: 1279).
4 § The devices of this Regulation shall not be erected, maintained or removed by anyone other than the one under Chapter 1. 6 § responsible for the action or the person he or she hires. Such measures may not be carried out in any way other than as specified in this regulation or in regulations issued under it. Nor can anyone put up a device that can be confused with or have the same meaning as a device of this Regulation.
If, because of a traffic accident, an injury on the road or any other reason occurring conditions which may endanger or obstruct traffic can anyone put up, remove and maintain the devices according to this regulation if necessary to meet safety. However, this applies only in the case of any measure by the person responsible for the action under Chapter 1. § 6 can not be awaited.
§ 5 Costs for manufacturing, set up, maintain and remove devices under this Regulation shall be paid by the person under Chapter 1. 6 § responsible for the actions. This does not apply in the following cases:
1st Costs for a location mark is set up for decision on guidance under Chapter 2. 13 a § paid by the requested route guidance. If the mark still must be paid up costs instead of the party responsible for road and street maintenance.
2nd Costs for devices that temporarily need for a temporary arrangement or equivalent paid by the person responsible for the event.
